1.  Networking Multiple DJCalendar Programs

You can Network Multiple DJCalendar Programs to use the same contract databases.  In otherwords, if you have multiple computers in the same office, you can store your DJCalendar files on a network for multiple DJCalendar programs to share.  Each DJCalendar program can view, add, and edit the same contracts.  Note:  Each DJCalendar Program must be registered with a Full Access keycode.

DJCalendar does not offer technical support on setting up your network but assuming that you already have a LAN (local area network) setup in your office and you are reading this help file on networking, you can follow these guidelines to help you setup your DJCalendar programs to share the same contract databases.

Networking Multiple DJCalendar programs

Assuming you have some networking experience (not that it's necessary), The instructions below will describe your "main computer" and "second computer".  The "main computer" will need "file sharing" enabled so that the "second
computer" can see the "main computer's" files.

1. From the "second computer", you will need to click on your Network
Neighborhood icon.  Browse the network neighborhood until you find your
"main computer's" computer name.
2.  Now right click on this folder and select "map network drive".
3.  Select a drive letter to map the "main computer" to.  In this example,
we'll use the drive letter "M:\"
4.  Now go into DJCalendar software (were still on your second computer) and
from the main calendar form, click "File", then "Setup".  This will take you
to the "Setup Options Form" where you can change your "Program Files Directory".
This feature basically tells your DJCalendar software where to retrieve
your contracts and other program data.
5.  In step 3 above, we mapped your "main computer" to drive letter "M:\"
When your DJCalendar software was originally installed, the setup program
installed your DJCalendar files to folder /Program Files/DJCalendar4/
So all you have left to do is to type in the folder name
"M:\Program Files\DJCalendar4\"
6.  Save these settings.
7.  Close DJCalendar and then Re-open.
8.  You should now be able to see the same contracts from both computers.

Note:  The "main computer" must always be turned on before the "second
computer".   In otherwords, if you have your "main computer" off and then
turn on the "second computer", the "second computer" is expecting to map the
drive letter "M:\" to the "main computer", but since the "main computer" is
off, your mapped drive will lose its connection and may result in having to
map a network drive letter again from your "second computer".  Contracts can
now be added, edited, or viewed from either computer.
